Coca-Cola and Merlin offer VIP rewards for recycling plastic bottles
Sustainability

For the third year in a row, Coca-Cola and Merlin Entertainments are collaborating to promote recycling through reverse vending machines. Visitors to Merlin attractions in the UK can win VIP experiences by recycling empty 500ml plastic bottles at designated machines.

This initiative will see 28 reverse vending machines installed at 11 Merlin locations, including Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, THORPE PARK Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Warwick Castle, SEA LIFE aquariums in Blackpool, Birmingham, Brighton, and London, The Blackpool Tower, and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Birmingham. The program runs from July 1st to September 6th, 2024.

This year's campaign features newly designed vending machines to enhance visibility. Four additional machines have been added since last year, making it easier for guests to locate them. Guests can also find machines with the help of staff or by using the attraction's app, which guides them to recycling points. After recycling, participants receive a receipt with a website link to enter the VIP competition.
