New products at Cosmoprof demonstrate Amcor’s versatility in beauty packaging
Supplier News

Amcor will present its latest developments and innovations in beauty, health and wellness packaging at this year’s Cosmoprof exhibition, being held in Bologna, Italy, from March 26th to 28th.

The Amcor stand (E27 in Pavilion 18) will showcase the company’s capabilities in both rigid and flexible packaging with a wide range of applicators, bottles, jars, dispensers, closures, flexible packs and stand-up pouches that meet the demands of today’s consumer-led markets. All combine aesthetics with functionality to maximize the end-user experience, while also incorporating sustainability considerations such as packs designed for recyclability, as well as refillable and reusable formats, and the incorporation of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, including material produced using Amcor’s proprietary CleanStream® recycling technology, subject to material availability and local regulatory acceptance.

Among the range of dispensers on display, a major highlight will be the introduction of the all-plastic, Magic One airless dispenser, designed to be recyclable where appropriate collection and recycling systems exist. This is designed to offer flexibility thanks to its engine concept mechanism that means it can be specified in different outputs and bespoke designs and formats. Amcor will also demonstrate its Magic SL 4You dispenser, which can be specified in different sizes and is designed to deliver high-performance features and enhanced ergonomic benefits together with color matching for individualized branding.

Another recent dispenser development on show will be the Grace head actuator, which brings a new level of sophistication to Amcor’s all-plastic Wave 2cc pump. Engineered to balance aesthetics with functionality, the Grace actuator’s sleek design creates an elegant shape that fits under the hand to balance form and function, and is designed to provide controlled and efficient product dispensing.

Recently launched highlights from Amcor’s applicator, bottle and jar ranges include the Mocha bottle, a standard bottle with an on-trend design that can utilize a range of customizable options and is available with a low minimum order quantity to enable brands to bring high-impact packaging quickly to market; the Shadow roll-on, featuring a new lightweight design that further increases the options for branding and differentiation in the beauty sector, and the smaller 15 ml, 20 ml and 25 ml sizes in the Exclusive Stick and Refill range, which offer a convenient, attractive and refillable pack for beauty and personal care.

Amcor will be presenting a selection of its many user-friendly and versatile caps and closures, alongside the ergonomically designed pre-compression Booster-S trigger spray. This non-drip trigger is engineered to provide controlled spray performance with consistent droplet size and spray direction from either of its spray and foamer nozzles functions.

Innovations from Amcor’s flexibles portfolio include the latest recycle-ready wet wipe pack. It uses the AmPrima® mono-polyethylene (PE) flow wrap, combined with a PE-based semi-rigid label. This PE-based combination is designed to deliver reliable functionality and wipe performance, and can be recycled where compatible PE recycling streams exist, currently available in several European countries.

Cosmoprof provides a global focus for the entire beauty industry, so it is the ideal forum where we can show the extent of our product portfolio while also learning from discussions with beauty brands about their packaging requirements. We are especially delighted to be showcasing a number of exciting new products planned for introduction at this year’s show.

Lara Alemany, product line director, Amcor Global Rigid Packaging Solutions.

Amcor will also demonstrate its stand-up pouches, sachets, and stick packs for beauty products. Available in a range of barriers to deliver the right product protection, Amcor’s stand-up pouches appeal to consumers with features such as easy opening, easy-pour spouts, as well as custom shapes and print options. Amcor’s pouches also offer opportunities for beauty brands to align their packaging with their sustainability goals. For example, AmPrima® stand-up pouches are recycle-ready, can incorporate a percentage of PCR material, and can support the reuse of rigid bottles and containers as refill pouches.
