U.S. Postal Service prepares for seamless holiday deliveries
Business
As the holiday season approaches, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is geared up for increased package and mail deliveries.
Prepared for the festive rush, USPS, with its modernised facilities and delivery network, offers affordable and reliable shipping services. To ensure a hassle-free experience, USPS recommends sending items early, utilising online tools like Click-N-Ship, staying informed with Informed Delivery, adhering to shipping safety guidelines, and staying updated through the USPS Holiday Newsroom.
Notably, USPS commits to no additional holiday surcharges, providing predictable pricing without fees for residential area delivery, Saturday delivery, or minimum volumes.
In preparation for the 2023 peak holiday season, USPS made strategic investments under the Delivering for America plan, including the introduction of USPS Ground Advantage, hiring 10,000 seasonal employees, installing 348 new package sorting machines, increasing daily package processing capacity to 70 million, and prioritising more reliable ground transportation.
Postmaster General and CEO, Louis DeJoy, said: Our commitment is unwavering, and our preparation is thorough. We have been strategically planning early and leveraging significant investments in our people, infrastructure, delivery network, and technology. Thanks to the Delivering for America plan, we will be the most affordable way to ship and mail holiday cheer this year.
