Jowat sustainable packaging processes at Scanpack

For the first time, the adhesive manufacturer Jowat will be showcasing its comprehensive product portfolio for sustainable packaging processes at Scanpack. The powerful, modern hot melt adhesives impress with high bio-based contents, optimised energy efficiency, formulations low in MOAH, and very clean processing.

Sustainable processes have to meet a wide range of requirements. Therefore, the Green Adhesives series supplied by the globally active adhesive manufacturer Jowat provides particularly energy-efficient, process-optimised and food-safe bonding solutions in addition to adhesives containing high proportions of bio-based raw materials. Clean processing characteristics, such as low stringing, play a major role and are a fundamental requirement in the development of Jowat adhesives. This significantly reduces cleaning and maintenance work, prevents adhesive waste and facilitates more efficient processes.

The powerful bio-based hot melt adhesives of the Jowatherm® GROW series use pine resins as raw material base. Apart from having a bio-based content of more than 30%, Jowatherm® GROW 853.20 is very resource-friendly and can be processed at temperatures starting from 120°C. In combination with the very clean adhesive cut-off at the nozzle, it thereby helps prevent the soiling of machine parts and packaging. An even higher proportion of over 50% bio-based raw materials is contained in Jowatherm® GROW 853.22, an adhesive with very wide range of adhesion for the reliable bonding of difficult surfaces. The high flexibility at low temperatures makes this adhesive an attractive partner in deep-freeze applications.

Energy savings of up to 45% are facilitated by Jowat-Toptherm® 851.99. This Jowat hot melt adhesive couples an extremely low processing temperature starting from 99°C with a wide range of adhesion and robust universal characteristics, making it an attractive choice for temperature-sensitive products, e.g. frozen food or confectionery. However, the MOAH-free (below typical detection limits) and accurately applicable hot melt adhesive also impresses in the packaging of dry and fatty food with long shelf lives.

The following two long-time favourites and all-purpose adhesives are also based on a MOAH-free formulation (below typical detection limits) and have been established for many years in the different applications of packaging companies: Jowat-Toptherm® 851.10 is the top choice for the bonding of challenging surfaces and impresses with very low stringing. Jowat-Toptherm® 851.15 excels in processes with short pressing times, high restoring forces or elevated temperatures (e.g. hot filling or transport inside shipping containers).

Jowat convinces customers not only with its comprehensive and powerful adhesive portfolio, but also due to an impressive service and support in all product- and process-related matters as well as its commitment to significantly exceed expectations. Discover all the benefits in a conversation with the experts of Jowat Scandinavia AB at Scanpack in Göteborg, hall B02 booth 41, October 4 through 7.
