Craemer Group: A stable unit – EURO L1 plastic pallet and CC1 pallet collar

Supplier News

Reliable (intra-)logistics systems with professional palletising require durable, practical and economical solutions to store goods and transport them from A to B in a quick and smooth manner, without damage. With the EURO L1®, the Craemer Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of logistics solutions, has developed a robust plastic pallet that meets the highest logistical requirements. Combined with the CC1 pallet collar, it forms a stable, reusable packaging unit.

The intralogistic systems of numerous European companies operating in production, trade and logistics are adapted to the dimensions of the wooden Euro pallet. With overall dimensions of 150 x 1200 x 800 millimetres (height x length x width), the EURO L1 pallet from Craemer corresponds exactly to these Euro sizes. This means that this specially developed alternative load carrier made in Germany is a practical solution compared to conventional wooden pallets. In contrast to wood, which wears out really quickly and splinters in everyday use, the L1 is extremely robust and durable. Like the perfectly matching CC1 pallet collar, the heavy-duty pallet from Craemer is injection-moulded in one piece from high-quality durable polyethylene (PE).

Suitable for all kinds of applications in (intra-)logistics, the splinter-free plastic pallet L1 from Craemer is also designed as a packaging unit since its pallet frame is ideal for automated high-rack warehouses. With or without the CC1: the L1 is compatible with old and new installations, all types of light barriers and sensors. Thanks to its special design, it runs maintenance-free and trouble-free on all standard conveyor technology systems, such as chain conveyors and roller conveyors. In addition, the EURO L1 can be controlled by all conventional stacker cranes, palletisers and depalletisers, also when combined with the Craemer pallet collar. The plastic pallet is provided with 5 reinforcement profiles, permitting a static load capacity of 7500 kilograms and 1250 kilograms in motion (dynamic load) or in high racking.

CC1: Added value for efficient (intra)logistics

Combining the Craemer L1 pallet with the CC1 pallet collar not only expands this pallet’s range of applications enormously: with its external dimensions (1220 x 815 mm, height 300 mm) the CC1 fits on (almost) all Euro pallets – wooden or plastic. The connection to the load carrier creates a stable, reusable and efficient packaging unit that ensures reliable load protection, while avoiding packaging waste and thus saving on disposal costs.

The Craemer CC1 Euro pallet collar is extremely easy to handle thanks to its integrated handles, movable locking elements and a sophisticated folding mechanism. Other advantages include its enormous volume reducibility and slip resistance. When unfolded, the 7.8-kilogram collar has a nominal volume of 260 litres and is easy and simple to place on the load carrier. Stacked up to three-high, it allows for greater flexibility in transporting goods of different sizes.

Ideal packaging and loading unit

The ideal combination for a loading unit with a height of around 2.10 metres: a stack of two pallets with three pallet frames each. In this configuration, the stacking load of the lower unit is 500 kg. Stacking one to three high units also ensures efficient space utilisation and full vehicle utilisation, while folding allows space-saving storage and efficient empty transport (75 % volume reduction when stacked 30-high on a Euro pallet).

Ingenious locking elements on the bottom of the CC1 ensure slip-resistance – even when unfolded. Used as a single collar, the optional 10 mm external locking rims allow safe stacking of an additional pallet. Without rim, the collar can be tightly locked in place using a pallet lid in the usual dimensions.

Euro L1 scores with anti-slip system

Craemer has complemented its wide range of plastic load carriers with the practical CC1 Euro pallet collar. In the Euro size range, the EURO L1 scores with anti-slip elements. As an experienced manufacturer of high-quality plastic pallets with more than 60 years of experience, Craemer has developed Palgrip®, a unique anti-slip coating. This coating is a standard feature on the upper deck in the shape of abrasion-resistant, welded anti-slip strips. These strips make sure that the load is held securely in a wide range of conditions, even in inclined positions and in damp environments. Three evenly closed runners ensure trouble-free materials handling.
For optimum running smoothness on roller or chain conveyors, they are also optionally available as welded Palgrip anti-slip runners.

Whether EURO L1, CC1 and pallet lids are used as a packaging unit or individually: The additionally available RFID transponders (radio frequency identification) turn these pallets into traceable, “smart” information carriers. Other quality features are their temperature resistance from minus 30 degrees to plus 40 degrees Celsius – and briefly up to 90 degrees. Even with increasing trip rates, the EURO L1, CC1 and pallet lids from Craemer maintain their quality and stand out on account of their long service life. Conclusion: These combination components are ideal for ensuring maximum efficiency in internal and external logistics processes.
