Supplier News

Plastic pallet boxes with reduced height are used for clear storage, allow quick access to contents and protect sensitive goods. Typical fields of applications include the food industry, fish processing, mechanical engineering and metal processing. The Craemer Group – one of the world's leading manufacturers of durable plastic logistics solutions – has developed the new CB3 Low. Thanks to its extremely stable base, this compact, robust and handy pallet box is specially designed for heavy-duty applications with low-volume requirements. It is also suitable for the safe transport and storage of pressure-sensitive goods. The CB3 Low is set to make its debut at the LogiMAT trade fair in spring 2026.

Following on from the CB3 (740 mm high) and the large-volume CB3 High (1140 mm high), the Craemer experts have now developed the new CB3 Low pallet box in response to specific market requirements. This is a logical extension of the Craemer portfolio in industrial dimensions (1200 x 1000 mm). With a height of 580 millimetres, it is particularly suitable for manual operations and ergonomic work processes. When designing the Low version, the developers deliberately focused on creating a highly stable base specially designed for storing and transporting heavy goods. This large, completely one-piece moulded load carrier offers high stability and resistance – even under demanding conditions. Its carefully thought-out, functional design ensures it is comfortable to use in everyday applications.

Compact design for ergonomic processes

The Craemer Group also manufactures the CB3 Low pallet box from high-quality, food-safe and fully recyclable polyethylene. This one-piece injection-moulded box from the CB3 series is available with three unwelded runners as standard, plus nine feet as an optional extra. The compact CB3 Low runner version weighs only 34.5 kilograms, has a payload of 750 kilograms, a stacking load of 4500 kilograms and a capacity of approx. 430 litres.

Optimised design through FEM simulation

Craemer's designers used cutting-edge simulation methods to develop the new pallet box with reduced height. Key features such as base rigidity and stacking properties were virtually tested and optimised using finite element modelling (FEM). This included a revised rib structure, a reinforced T-profile for the runner connection, and adjustments to the centre posts. The design of the impact protection around the entry openings was also improved to increase resistance during handling with forklift trucks and to provide better impact absorption. The result is a pallet box with balanced force distribution and high dimensional stability, remaining reliable even in demanding everyday logistics operations.

Proven features of CB pallet boxes

Like all pallet boxes in the CB series, the CB3 Low features integrated stacking cams at the outer corners which securely lock into the stacking pockets on the base support. The box can withstand temperatures from –30°C to +40°C and even up to +90°C for short periods. Its seamless construction and smooth inner surfaces ensure easy cleaning and drying. Transponder holders on the long sides can be used for digital tracking; fields for prints on the short sides provide space for individually stamped logos or lettering. A custom-fit lid is available as an optional feature.

Versatile applications

Thanks to its reduced height and robust design with a heavy-duty base, the CB3 Low is suitable for applications with heavy goods requiring little space, as well as for transporting and storing pressure-sensitive goods. The box is typically used in the food industry and for fish processing. Moreover, this compact pallet box is ideal for use in metal processing and mechanical engineering, e. g., for transporting and storing heavy parts or components.

Thanks to its compact design, high robustness and practical construction, the CB3 Low is a powerful addition to the Craemer portfolio. Its premiere will take place at the LogiMAT 2026 trade fair, running from 24 to 26 March in Stuttgart, Germany.
