FANCL launches refillable skincare range with reusable packaging
Sustainability

Japanese cosmetics brand FANCL has unveiled its latest skincare line, “toiro,” which features reusable packaging designed to support more sustainable beauty practices.

The new toiro range introduces a refillable system, where consumers purchase a durable, shatter-resistant bottle and cap made from Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. After the initial purchase, customers can continue to use the same bottle, simply replacing the inner refill cartridge as needed. This approach significantly reduces plastic waste by cutting down on single-use packaging.

FANCL chose Tritan copolyester for its strength and resistance to breakage, ensuring that the reusable bottle can withstand repeated use while maintaining its quality. The design also helps preserve the integrity of FANCL’s preservative-free skincare formulations over time.

The brand has reported positive feedback from customers, who appreciate the durable packaging and the opportunity to incorporate sustainability into their skincare routines.

Tara Cary, Eastman's market manager for Cosmetic Packaging, said: FANCL needed a material that could check a lot of boxes for this new line. From durability and chemical resistance to aesthetics, Tritan addressed all those challenges. We love working with brands like FANCL who are committed to making sustainable products without compromise.

By offering reusable, refillable options, FANCL aims to contribute to a more circular beauty industry while meeting growing consumer demand for environmentally conscious products.
