Spectra gives Scottish Fine Soaps premium sustainable packaging
Supplier News

In 2024, Scottish Fine Soaps marked its 50th anniversary, cementing its status as Scotland’s oldest bath and beauty manufacturer.

The brand has unveiled a striking new look to celebrate this milestone, and Spectra Packaging is proud to play a key role in bringing this vision to life.

Scottish Fine Soaps has unveiled a stunning new look for its Sea Kelp range, featuring a bespoke gradient print effect developed in collaboration with Spectra’s in-house experts.

The new 300ml Roma bottles (Ref: 1017) and 500ml Roma bottles (Ref: 1151) utilise a unique wrap-around gradient, seamlessly blending shades and delivering a premium aesthetic that elevates the collection.

Spectra implemented a high-mesh screen process on both natural and translucent bottles to achieve this effect, ensuring precision in the gradient’s transition. This innovative technique allows the brand’s signature Sea Kelp range to stand out on the shelf while maintaining its luxury identity.

Alongside the striking design, sustainability remains a core focus. The Sea Kelp bottles, are made from 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) PCR reinforcing the brand’s commitment to eco-conscious packaging. Featuring a 24/410 neck finish and a selection of premium pumps, the bottles combine functionality with sustainability without compromising on quality.

Beyond the Sea Kelp range, Spectra also proudly supplies Scottish Fine Soaps with packaging for its renowned Au Lait collection. This range utilises 100% POP PCR HDPE bottles (Ref: 6136), which are also printed in-house using a one-pass screen print process to deliver crisp and consistent branding.

Trisha Wood, Designer at Scottish Fine Soaps, commented: We wanted a premium, sustainable bottle that stood out on the shelf while aligning with our commitment to eco-friendly packaging. Spectra not only provided the perfect solution but also delivered a beautifully executed gradient print effect that enhances the overall design.

John Pymar, Customer Services Representative at Spectra Packaging, added: It was fantastic to work with Scottish Fine Soaps on this project. Achieving the gradient effect on PCR bottles was a rewarding challenge, and we’re thrilled with the results. This project highlights our ability to merge sustainability with high-end aesthetics, delivering packaging that makes an impact both visually and environmentally.

Spectra Packaging continues to push the boundaries of sustainable packaging innovation, offering bespoke design solutions that help brands like Scottish Fine Soaps achieve their aesthetic and environmental goals.
