Adelphi opens Tandem Works in commitment to British Manufacturing
Supplier News

The Adelphi Group of Companies, a UK manufacturer and supplier of processing and packaging machinery, has officially opened its Tandem Works manufacturing facility in Huddersfield. The opening marks the next phase of integration of Karmelle Limited, a specialist in liquid-filling, capping and labelling, into the Group following its acquisition. The event welcomed colleagues from across the Group, bringing them together as one team and highlighting the combined engineering expertise now operating from the site. The day demonstrated how Adelphi is strengthening collaboration across the business while reinforcing its long-term commitment to British manufacturing in the North of England.

Tandem Works was officially opened by Stephen Holroyd, Chairman and owner of the Adelphi Group of Companies, who presented the facility with a symbolic Holroyd grandfather clock representing shared time, momentum and continuity of British Manufacturing.

Guests were welcomed to Tandem Works with breakfast rolls and coffee, followed by a live performance from the Hepworth Brass band, one of the oldest brass bands in the country, bringing with it a strong sense of Yorkshire heritage to the occasion. Attendees were then invited to a tour of the facility, showcasing the combined engineering capabilities now based at the Huddersfield site, which plays a key role in Adelphi’s growing presence in the North of England.

I am delighted to officially open our Tandem Works facility here in Huddersfield and to mark the occasion with the presentation of a Holroyd grandfather clock. This moment represents more than a new chapter for Adelphi, it reflects our long-term commitment to British manufacturing and to investing in its future. Establishing a strong presence in the North gives us a firm place in the heart of Yorkshire’s proud engineering tradition, and it is incredibly rewarding to see our teams come together, united in their passion for keeping UK manufacturing alive and thriving.

Stephen Holroyd, Chairman and Owner of Adelphi Group.

Also in attendance at the event from the Adephi Group were Chris Wilson, Managing Director, Becky Kinder, UK Business Development Representative, and Lena Hebestreit, Head of Marketing. Alongside were representatives from West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS), an industry-led charity supporting the growth of manufacturing across the region.

The event underscored Adelphi’s belief that the strength of British manufacturing lies not only in innovation and precision engineering, but in its people. By uniting teams, investing in regional facilities and supporting organisations like WYMS, Adelphi continues to play an active role in ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the UK manufacturing sector.

Established in 1947, Adelphi has a strong heritage in British engineering and manufacturing. Headquartered in Haywards Heath, with manufacturing operations there and in Huddersfield, the Group has a reputation for precision, quality and innovation in manufacturing. Today, Adelphi comprises five independent but complementary divisions: Adelphi Masterfil, Adelphi Manufacturing, Adelphi Pharma Hygiene Products, Coldstream Engineering, and Adelphi Healthcare Packaging. Together, the Group delivers specialist machinery, packaging and healthcare solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors, including food processing and manufacturing, pharmaceutical and healthcare.

Adelphi is committed to responsible business and the long-term success of UK manufacturing. Across the Group, this includes investment in people, sustainability, skills development and community impact, alongside a clear focus on maintaining the highest standards in engineering and manufacturing.
