The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF) has launched Pizza for Good, a US-wide campaign bringing together pizzerias and companies from across the pizza industry to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research.

Running throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, the initiative involves restaurants, suppliers, distributors, technology companies, food influencers and pizza tour operators.

Pizza Bib was the first industry partner to join the campaign and has produced and donated custom Pizza for Good pizza boxes designed to raise awareness among customers.

DeIorio's is also using packaging to support the initiative, printing the Pizza for Good campaign message on 40,000 cases of pizza dough.

Participating pizzerias across the US are supporting the campaign through donations and opportunities for customers to round up their purchases. Restaurants involved include Jay Luigi, The Corner Crust Pizza & Brew, Nevada Pizza Kitchen, Peace Love and Pizza, White Rabbit Gastropub, Rad Pies Taproom, Spark Pizza, Little Italy Ristorante and Professor Pizza.

Other industry partners are contributing through a range of activities. Greco & Sons is sponsoring the campaign, while PDQ Signature Systems is supporting round-up donations through participating restaurants and Forkfluence is working with food influencers to increase awareness.

Scott's Pizza Tours is asking customers to donate $1 when booking and for every slice eaten during its September tours, while Orlando Foods is donating $1 from each e-commerce bag of pizza flour sold during the month.

According to NPCF, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer in the US each day. Funds raised through Pizza for Good will support research into treatments for childhood cancer.

Pizza brings people together, and Pizza for Good gives our industry an opportunity to come together for something much bigger than pizza. When we learned about NPCF's vision, we knew we wanted to be the first to step up. This is just the beginning. Our goal is to help this campaign grow significantly over the next five years and inspire more pizzerias, suppliers, partners and pizza lovers to join us.

Jamie Heal, CEO of Pizza Bib.

Consumers can support the campaign throughout September through participating restaurants and other Pizza for Good partners.
