Evri to trial reusable packaging with Vinted in Parcel Shop network

Evri is set to become the first UK parcel carrier to pilot Vinted’s reusable packaging, offering customers a more sustainable option for sending second-hand items. The initiative, launched this summer across select locations in Evri’s ParcelShop network, allows users to collect free reusable packaging when dropping off their items.

The move reflects a growing emphasis on sustainability in e-commerce, particularly within the second-hand market. According to Evri’s UK Ecommerce Pulse report published in 2024, almost 30 million UK adults bought pre-loved goods online. By introducing reusable packaging, Vinted and Evri aim to cut down on single-use materials linked to these growing parcel volumes.

The pilot forms part of a wider expansion of the partnership between Evri and Vinted. The two companies have worked together since 2018, with both seeing significant growth in recent years as demand for second-hand shopping has risen. A new four-year contract will continue this collaboration, with Evri providing delivery services through its network of ParcelShops and lockers.

The announcement comes alongside a series of wider strategic developments at Evri, including its proposed merger with DHL UK eCommerce, the acquisition of Irish customs specialist Coll-8, and a £50 million investment in expanding its ParcelShop and locker network to 25,000 sites by 2030.

Vytautas Atkoičaitis, Vice President of Vinted, said: At Vinted, we want our members to benefit from the most convenient and efficient shipping options. Expanding our partnership with Evri ensures that our UK members can continue to use its growing delivery network and its exciting new locker proposition, making it even easier to buy and sell second-hand items.

By combining an extended partnership with the introduction of reusable packaging, Evri and Vinted are positioning sustainability at the forefront of their services while continuing to respond to the growing second-hand economy.
