Robotic solutions bring greater productivity to the global plastic market

Supplier News

The need to package products in diverse containers remains strong throughout the industrial landscape. To deliver the packaging customization required, manufacturers continue to use cost-effective plastic materials. From transparency to biocompatibility, multiple customer specifications are easily achieved using this versatile option.

Whether a container is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or something else, a critical component for maintaining production at a growing number of bottle and container manufacturing facilities is the use of highly efficient robotic automation.

From bottle pick and place, to case or tray pack palletizing/depalletizing, high-performance robots maximize efficiency, increase flexibility, and save on time and labor. Equipped with the proper end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), robots are well-suited for handling difficult bottle geometries, as well as accommodating unique container orientations.

Injection Molding Solutions

When it comes to injection molding, the use of robots can be highly advantageous. Innovative solutions, like Yaskawa's SPI-67 interface helps to streamline the process for robotically removing molded parts from an injection molding machine (IMM). Adhering to the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) electrical interface standards, SPI-67 works in conjunction with YRC1000-controlled Yaskawa GP-series and HC-series robots.
