Biscuiteers, known for their hand-iced biscuits and sweet treats, has introduced a new packaging solution to ensure their products arrive intact when shipped to customers worldwide. The company, which specialises in creating biscuits as gifts for various occasions, relies heavily on protective packaging to maintain the quality of its delicate products during transit.

Previously using cushion pads from a different supplier, Biscuiteers approached Smurfit Westrock through an online enquiry in search of an improved solution. The result was the adoption of Smurfit Westrock’s biscuit cushion pads, specifically designed to safeguard fragile items during shipping. These 3-ply and 5-ply pads offer robust protection against crushing and damage, helping the biscuits retain their quality and presentation from dispatch to delivery.

The implementation of these cushion pads has reportedly reduced the number of damaged products and associated returns, contributing to an improved customer experience. By ensuring that each biscuit arrives in pristine condition, the packaging solution plays a role in upholding the brand’s reputation and the unboxing experience that is integral to their gift offerings.

Sustainability is another key feature of the new packaging. The cushion pads are 100% recyclable, aligning with Biscuiteers’ environmental goals. As consumers increasingly consider a brand’s ecological impact, the use of sustainable materials adds value to the overall customer experience while reinforcing Biscuiteers’ commitment to responsible practices.

Liliana Bonilla, Head of Purchasing at Biscuiteers said: Our biscuits are a labour of love, and it’s crucial that they arrive in the same perfect condition we send them in. Smurfit Westrock’s cushion pads have been a game-changer for us. Not only do they protect our biscuits during transit, but they also align with our sustainability values. Knowing that our packaging is both effective and sustainable gives us and our customers peace of mind.

By adopting Smurfit Westrock’s cushion pads, Biscuiteers aims to balance practicality and environmental consciousness. The partnership reflects a strategic approach to enhancing product protection, customer satisfaction, and sustainability, positioning Biscuiteers to continue delivering its signature sweet treats with care and reliability.
