Driving plastics resource management and recycling

Founded in 1990, RECOUP is a member based plastics recycling charity and leading organisation providing information, good practice guidance and general expertise to the plastic supply chain industry. With an extensive network of contacts and members in both the UK and Europe RECOUP is committed to delivering sustainable, practical solutions and resources for the plastic material chain.

Through policy, leadership, corporate governance and innovation, RECOUP believe that aspirations for climate mitigation and plastic resource efficiency can be realised.

RECOUP aims and objectives

RECOUP leads the way with a great level of consumer and corporate interest in plastics, packaging, resources and recycling.

RECOUP objectives:

  • More efficient use of plastic resources

  • Increased plastic recycling

  • Improved environmental performance

  • Meeting legislative requirements

RECOUP aims to:

  • Inform and lead the development of plastics recycling and resource management.

  • Be the UK's plastic chain co-ordinators and independent voice.

  • Educate on the recycling of plastics to protect the environment

RECOUP does this by:

  • Encouraging the development of sustainable plastics waste and resource management

  • Conducting research to find good practices and remove barriers to the development of efficient plastics recycling systems

  • Providing expert technical support, training, and consultancy

  • Promoting the use of recycled plastics in high-quality end products

  • Offering guidance, training, and consultancy to plastics value chain businesses

  • Being the voice for the plastics recycling supply chain to key decision makers

RECOUP events

RECOUP holds two main events each year; the RECOUP Conference and the RECOUP Plastics Recycling Annual Awards. RECOUP also hosts free webinars for both members and non-members.
