WRAP releases toolkit ahead of Recycle Week 2026
Sustainability

WRAP has released a new communications toolkit to support organisations taking part in Recycle Week 2026, which will run across the UK from 14–20 September.

The toolkit has been published through Recycle Now, WRAP's citizen-facing recycling campaign, and is intended for use by local authorities, businesses, brands, retailers, organisations and community groups planning activities around the annual awareness campaign.

A range of editable and ready-to-use resources has been included to help participants communicate their involvement across digital, social media and print channels.

Materials available within the toolkit include editable Canva assets and social media copy, alongside digital banners, print materials and a press release template. Communications guidance and practical tips for organisations participating in the campaign are also provided.

2026 has been a huge year for recycling with new and incoming policy and packaging changes. In September - six months after Simpler Recycling came into effect in England – we’ll be turning attention onto another key piece of the puzzle, helping people to recycle better.

As the UK’s biggest recycling moment, we’ve released our campaign toolkit to help everyone get ready. This year we’re continuing the theme of Rescue Me, Recycle! But you’ll spot a friendly new face joining the line-up of commonly binned items that can be recycled – Neil the Peel - alongside familiar characters.

Lucy Graham, Recycle Now Marketing Manager.

The resources are available to download free of charge from WRAP's website.

Recycle Week is an annual campaign focused on raising awareness of recycling and encouraging participation across the UK. The 2026 campaign will mark the 22nd year of Recycle Week.
