Sweden Rock Festival is expanding its use of reusable and compostable foodservice solutions through a collaboration with Duni Group, as the event continues efforts to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency.

The festival, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, is introducing a combination of reusable serving formats, compostable packaging and on-site waste management systems designed to support high-volume food and beverage operations.

One of the key initiatives for this year's event is the installation of a large-scale composting unit supplied through Duni Group’s Solserv by Duniform brand. Located within staff catering areas, the system is designed to process both food waste and used paper-based packaging on site. According to the company, the material can be converted into compost within 24 hours, reducing the need for off-site waste handling.

We see great value in demonstrating how circular solutions can work in practice, even in complex environments such as festivals. By combining compostable packaging, on-site waste management and reusable solutions, we take a concrete step towards reducing waste.

The partnership also includes the supply of reusable drinking glasses through Duni Group’s Relevo brand for beverage service across the festival grounds.

Festival organisers and Duni Group are using the event as an example of how reuse systems, compostable packaging and localised waste processing can be combined within a single operational framework. The approach is intended to support more efficient material flows while addressing the logistical demands associated with large-scale public events.

Integrating sustainability into the entire experience is essential for us. With Duni Group as a partner, we can combine functionality, logistics and sustainability in a way that works at scale.

By integrating reusable and compostable solutions across multiple areas of the festival, the initiative aims to reduce resource consumption and support broader sustainability objectives for event foodservice operations.
