Oman Air introduces recyclable paper packaging for economy class earphones
Sustainability

Oman Air has taken a significant step towards enhancing the sustainability of its onboard experience by redesigning the packaging for its Economy Class earphones. The airline has replaced the single-use plastic PET foil with recyclable Kraft paper envelopes.

In collaboration with Linstol, a global provider of eco-friendly in-flight products, Oman Air aims to eliminate 6.48 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually.

Oman Air is committed to boosting its sustainability efforts by integrating eco-friendly materials and reducing waste, thereby supporting the circular economy. Last year, the airline saved approximately 21.6 tonnes of plastic by replacing the wrapping for blankets and mattresses in its premium cabins with a more sustainable paper-based alternative. The airline also reduced the use of plastic water bottles and cups and managed potable water consumption more efficiently.

Additionally, Oman Air has implemented various emissions reduction initiatives and is actively fostering the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels. These efforts align with Oman’s strategy to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
