Plant growers rely on fast and efficient packaging processes when shipping their products. This enables horticultural companies to increase their output, avoid downtime and reduce labour costs.

End-of-line packaging machine manufacturer Lantech will be exhibiting automated solutions for case packaging at IPM Essen 2025 in Hall 3 Stand C62.

Lantech's automated packaging systems are trusted by top horticultural companies worldwide. At IPM Essen, the manufacturer will be exhibiting a machine that is predestined for the efficient dispatch of plants and flowers. The C-1000 case erector produces up to 30 cases per minute with flexible dimensions between 200mm x 150mm x 150mm and 500mm x 325mm x 520mm. Users reliably receive right-angled shipping cartons that are ideal for the logistics chain and offer maximum stability.

The C-1000 case erector achieves the 90-degree angle regardless of the nature of the corrugated cardboard, changing temperatures and humidity levels and varying blank dimensions. The blank is controlled from the moment it enters the magazine until it is discharged as a finished case with a closed bottom.

Bunnik Plants automates two packaging lines with Lantech

Optimal transport protection and an efficient packaging process are key competitive factors when shipping houseplants. The Dutch plant grower Bunnik Plants wanted to increase output, reduce costs and create capacity for growth. At the same time, it wanted to improve working conditions for its employees. With the help of several packaging solutions from Lantech, the shipping cases are now automatically built and sealed.

Bunnik Plants now achieves an output of 13 cases per minute on the packaging line, with a constant flow of work and very few system stops. On this line alone, three people have been freed up to work on other tasks.

Ready for the future, Bunnik Plants is benefiting from the automation of its case packaging. It can now process up to 900,000 cartons per year and the system offers further growth capacity for the future. The Lantech machines run smoothly and at high speed, so that even production peaks are easily handled. In addition, labour costs have been significantly reduced and working conditions for line operators have been improved. A return on investment is expected within a year.
