Rowse 'Paper Snap & Squeeze' emerged as the recipient of the top accolade in the 'Food on the go' category at The Grocer New Product & Packaging Awards 2023.

The environmentally conscious single-portion packaging solution, crafted by Rowse, secured the Gold medal for its 14g and 22g variants. The product boasts an innovative fold and snap mechanism, aiming to facilitate hassle-free and tidy dispensing of a solitary serving of honey.

In an evolution of its traditional New Product Awards, The Grocer introduced five new packaging awards this year, acknowledging advancements in packaging innovation and its role in addressing sustainability concerns.

The judging panel, while acknowledging the sustainability angle, commended the packaging's ingenuity and its "simple and effective concept" geared towards enhancing user convenience during the dispensing of honey. The product's versatility, extending beyond food-to-go applications to potential use in food-service channels like recipe boxes, further distinguished it from the competition.

Samantha MacNamara, Senior Brand Manager at Rowse Honey, said: Rowse Paper Snap & Squeeze has fantastic sustainability credentials. Made from paper, it is fully recyclable and consistent with our sustainability strategy of reducing waste to landfill and limiting our environmental footprint.

"Paper Snap & Squeeze" is currently available in Pret stores across the UK, where it is offered alongside Pret porridge.

Samantha MacNamara added: Paper Snap & Squeeze is an ingenious, mess-free, hygienic, and highly convenient way to provide single servings of 100% pure and natural Rowse honey in cafés, restaurants, canteens, delis, hotels, hospitals, food boxes, and a range of other food settings. We also anticipate it becoming a highly popular choice for families, commuters, and anyone on the go as it is ideal for portion control and highly portable.
