Sealed Air has introduced ZeroPrep hand-dispensing pouches under its CRYOVAC brand, designed to provide food service operators with an alternative to refillable squeeze bottles and other rigid condiment containers.

The pre-filled pouches are intended for back-of-house dispensing of sauces and condiments and feature an easy-open seal and semi-rigid spout. The packaging can be operated with one hand by squeezing the pouch, while the spout is designed to reseal when not in use to help prevent dripping.

CRYOVAC® brand ZeroPrep hand-dispensing pouches help food service operations save time and effort in every shift by eliminating labor-intensive preparation and cleanup of squeeze bottles and other rigid containers.

Each pouch remains hermetically sealed until it is first opened. By supplying condiments in a ready-to-use format, the system removes the need to transfer products into secondary bottles or containers, which Sealed Air says can reduce opportunities for contamination as well as preparation and cleaning requirements.

According to the company, the pouch format can achieve product yields of up to 97%, helping food service operators reduce the amount of condiment or sauce left behind in the packaging. The format is also intended to simplify storage and dispensing while maintaining product freshness and flavour consistency.

ZeroPrep pouches are produced using a new CRYOVAC vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) system. The equipment combines two specialised CRYOVAC films to create the pouch structure, including its easy-open seal, dispensing spout and hermetic seals.

The VFFS system can produce packs ranging from 8 to 16 fluid ounces and operates at speeds of up to 80 packs per minute.

We listen closely to customers to develop solutions that address everyday challenges and create meaningful value. ZeroPrep reflects this ongoing commitment by removing the tedious task of squeeze bottle prep and cleaning, helping restaurants improve efficiency and the employee experience while supporting food safety.

Joe Lambert, Sealed Air's North America vice president of food.

Sealed Air will showcase the new ZeroPrep pouches and VFFS system at PACK EXPO International 2026, taking place from 18–21 October at McCormick Place in Chicago. The technology will be displayed at booth S-2844.
