TAPPI

Founded over 100 years ago, the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) is a not-for-profit, international association for members involved in the pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and related industries. Led by volunteers, the TAPPI community includes suppliers, engineers, managers, scientists, academics and others from the paper and packaging world.

Peer-reviewed standards and information involving paper

TAPPI is a major contributor to world standards involving paper. As a member of ANSI (American National Standards Institute) TAPPI offers peer-reviewed standards and technical papers providing information relevant to the industry. TAPPI’s standards drive development and provide new ideas and methods whilst ensuring industry recognised practices are met.

TAPPI offers quality educational resources (over 20,000 technical papers in the TAPPI e-library) and conferences (over 30 international conferences and courses each year), making it the go-to resource for professionals in the industry.

The TAPPI Foundation

TAPPI also invests in the future. Through the TAPPI Foundation the pulp, paper, packaging, and converting industry is secure. The foundation encourages students to choose a career in the field and supports those that do with student scholarships.

Location

Located just outside of Atlanta, USA, the TAPPI headquarters is a popular place to visit for members. Hear first-hand what members and volunteers think, tour the library and see historic items such as early TAPPI standards and a special collection of paper-making heirlooms!
