YPS: From manual packing to automated fulfilment – how Supreme Vape Nation reduced costs and increased efficiency

Automation has created a faster, lower cost and more streamlined packing operation for Supreme Vape Nation's ecommerce operation. The system was supplied by Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS), a specialist in automated packaging solutions.

The new automated packing line consists of two SX tabletop bagging machines, with infeed and outfeed conveyors. Each machine features an integrated thermal transfer printer, enabling shipping information to be printed directly onto the mailing bag. This eliminates the need for separate labels and improves accuracy while reducing consumable costs.

Orders continue to be picked manually before being loaded onto the infeed conveyors. The system then automatically handles both the packing and the labelling, reducing operator involvement and increasing throughput.

Prior to the installation, orders were packed by hand into relatively expensive cardboard mailers. By switching to automated bagging, Supreme Vape Nation has not only streamlined its fulfilment process but also reduced packaging costs, as the bagging materials supplied by YPS are significantly more economical than the previous solution.

We’ve moved from a fully manual process to one where the orders are delivered by conveyor and then automatically packed and labelled by the system. This change has delivered significant cost savings, especially given the high volume of orders we process every day, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result.

For us, the result is a faster, more efficient fulfilment operation that is better equipped to handle our growing order volumes while maintaining accuracy and controlling costs. With the new system in place, Supreme Vape Nation is well positioned to support future growth and continue delivering a high level of service to our customers.
