Spectra to showcase sustainable innovations at CosmeticBusiness in Munich

SPECTRA
Supplier News

Spectra is delighted to announce its participation in this year’s CosmeticBusiness show on June 4th and 5th, at the MOC Event Center in Munich.

Promoting the theme “Simplifying Sustainability,” Spectra will present its latest sustainable packaging solutions designed to help customers navigate the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Leading the way in sustainable packaging

With the PPWR set to enforce significant changes in packaging standards, mandating all packaging to be recyclable by 2030 and recycled at scale by 2035, Spectra is already ahead of the curve.

For example, all Spectra bottles and closures currently contain a minimum of 35% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content as standard, surpassing the PPWR’s initial targets for 2030. This PCR content is sourced from Prevented Ocean Plastic, reinforcing a commitment to reducing environmental impact.

In addition to meeting recycled content requirements, Spectra is actively developing mono-material, refill and refillable packaging solutions. These innovations align with the PPWR’s emphasis on enhanced recyclability and the promotion of reuse and refill systems, offering customers practical pathways to compliance and sustainability.

Supporting UK brands amid regulatory changes

While the UK has left the EU, domestic brands exporting to the EU must comply with the PPWR’s stringent requirements. Simultaneously, UK domestic regulations are evolving, with the introduction of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme, which imposes new financial obligations on producers to cover the costs of recycling and waste management. Spectra is firmly committed to assisting UK businesses in navigating these complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance and promoting sustainable practices.
