Spectra reflects on a successful debut at Cosmopack 2026

Spectra Packaging is pleased to reflect on a successful first appearance at Cosmopack 2026 in Bologna. The show brought together a strong mix of international visitors, industry partners and familiar contacts who were eager to learn more about Spectra’s latest work in responsible packaging. Throughout the show, the team had positive engagement from visitors allowing them the opportunity to share insights, answer questions and discuss how Spectra can continue supporting brands through a changing regulatory landscape.

A major focus for this year’s appearance was the growing importance of the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and EPR/RAM. With PPWR set to play a central role in shaping how packaging is designed, labelled and recycled, the team used the event to highlight how Spectra is already well aligned with the new requirements and beyond. Visitors were introduced to Spectra’s recently released guidance materials, including resources designed to help brands understand recyclability grades, recycled content expectations and future design obligations. These guides remain available to view online for anyone who could not attend the show.

Spectra’s RAM traffic light display was a prominent feature on the stand and sparked extensive discussion. The system clearly shows how Spectra’s portfolio performs under emerging recyclability assessments, with 83% of its standard offerings already falling within the green rating. This provides reassurance for brands preparing for PPWR and reflects the work Spectra has invested in responsible materials, including consistent use of high recycled content.

Cosmopack had an incredible atmosphere and the level of interaction from visitors was exceptional. Meeting clients from twenty‑six different countries highlighted the strength of our global reach and the opportunities ahead. We also welcomed six visitors from Ireland who told us they are looking for packaging manufacturers closer to home, which was encouraging. Customers showed strong interest in fossil-free and bio-degradable polymers, an area in which Spectra is well experienced. The high level of engagement allowed us to pivot into meaningful discussions and genuine business development, something we had not experienced at this scale for some time. The event felt like a strong catalyst for continued global growth and expansion.

Damian Amies, Export Business Development Manager.

Spectra would like to thank everyone who visited the stand. The team looks forward to returning for Cosmopack 2027 and will be exhibiting next at London Packaging Week on 16 and 17 September 2026.
