Spectra Packaging recently collaborated with Salon Promotions and Laleham Health and Beauty to create a travel-size version of Neäl & Wølf’s VELVET Nourishing Hair Oil.

The new packs take advantage of Spectra’s 30ml Tubular (Ref:1150) and have been designed to accompany the brand’s existing hair oil packs which utilise Spectra’s 100ml Slim Tubular (Ref: 1048). Both packs are Injection-Stretch Blow-Moulded in 35% Prevented Ocean Plastic in PET and finished with an intricate two-pass print completed at Spectra’s in-house decoration department.

Amy Cranham from Salon Promotions emphasized the significance of this new addition:

“The Neäl & Wølf VELVET Nourishing Hair Oil 30ml was created as a much-requested travel size to complement our existing VELVET 100ml size. We have recently refreshed the packaging design across all our wetline and styling ranges, bringing greater focus on our ampersand icon and upgrading colour palettes, to create a more distinctive design, more impactful brand recognition, and to improve text legibility. The challenge with the VELVET 30ml was to do all this in miniature form. At 30ml, this was our smallest packaging container to date across the entire Neäl & Wølf range. In addition, we wanted to utilise the pump and overcap that we already used on our existing 100ml size. The 30ml size gives the impression of looking slightly oversized, which emphasises its ‘cute factor’

Jack Fairhead, Spectra’s Customer Services Representative, remarked on the meticulous attention to detail required for this project:

“Our goal was to deliver a packaging solution that matched the aesthetic and functional expectations of the original product and brought its own unique appeal. The intricacy of the design, with its 2-pass print in purple and cream, was especially challenging at this scale, but we’re very happy with the outcome.”

Neäl & Wølf was founded by Neil Capstick in 2009 after over 20 years in the haircare industry. He identified a market need for luxury yet affordable hair care products. The brand offers a professional hair care range designed to deliver reliable and impressive results. Each product is crafted based on customer and stylist feedback, ensuring effectiveness for all hair types. The formulations are high-quality, free from sulphates and parabens, and are cruelty-free. All products are rigorously tested by customers and salon professionals to ensure they meet the brand’s high standards.
