Faller Packaging develops customised packaging for sensitive products

Sometimes, a standard folding carton is not sufficient to package sensitive products or complex kits in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or MedTech sectors. That’s where Faller Packaging comes in — developing special custom constructions tailored precisely to the product. One current example: weight-loss injection pens.

These pens are considered gamechangers in the fight against obesity, and demand is rising rapidly. New medications for weight reduction are now available that patients can inject themselves. At the same time, these pens place high demands on secondary packaging: the formats are unusual, the active ingredients are delicate, and the usage scenarios are demanding. Only a customised packaging solution can meet the needs of both manufacturers and patients.

As a specialist in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and MedTech packaging, Faller Packaging develops tailor-made special constructions for complex requirements.

Product Manager, Niklas Mößner, says: Beyond limits – this is where we lead the market.

With over 140 years of experience, a strong focus on innovation, and high technical expertise, Faller provides reliable packaging solutions – even when things get challenging.

Tailored solutions, precise development

When it comes to injection systems like pens and syringes, or kits containing vials, ampoules, or accessories, smart construction is key. The packaging must not only offer protection but also integrate seamlessly into production processes and ensure user-friendly handling.

Mößner explains: This is only possible with tailored solutions that are precisely adapted to the product, process, and user.

Faller Packaging relies on holistic engineering. From the initial concept to market readiness, each project is infused with extensive expertise and supported by close partnerships with machinery manufacturers such as Uhlmann and Schubert-Pharma. Whether it is switching from plastic to mono-materials, handling complex kits, or designing sophisticated special formats – the focus is always on product protection, efficiency, and usability.

A successful example is the “Pleioflow” packaging for sterile medical equipment, developed by Faller Packaging in 2022 for MedTech manufacturer MedFact. This special construction is impressive not only in terms of function and design, but it was also honored with the prestigious ECMA Award.
