Berry Global Group, Inc. is committed to assisting its customers in achieving their sustainability objectives through innovative solutions. As part of its Bmore Circular Solutions initiative, the company has recently introduced a new recycled plastic stock option—a spray through overcap comprising 50% recycled content.

The demand for packaging with recycled content is rapidly increasing, driven by environmentally conscious consumers across various markets. According to a consumer survey conducted by McKinsey & Company, 60-70% of respondents expressed willingness to pay more for sustainable packaging. In the homecare sector specifically, a separate survey by Mintel revealed that 18% of consumers consider packaging made with recycled content to be a significant factor influencing their purchasing decisions. Notably, this influence is even stronger among Millennials, with 20% emphasising the importance of packaging made with recycled materials when buying homecare products.

Berry Global's comprehensive portfolio of post-consumer recycled (PCR) stock caps and closures encompasses a variety of sizes and styles, including seven overcap options that accommodate different container types. All of these PCR stock caps and closures are crafted from materials collected through curbside recycling programs.

By introducing the 50% recycled content spray through overcap and offering a diverse range of PCR stock caps and closures, Berry Global aims to support its customers in meeting their sustainability goals while catering to the rising demand for environmentally friendly packaging options.

Jonathan Reitman, VP Product Line Management for Berry Global, said: As demand for post-consumer resin (PCR) in packaging grows, we continue to prioritize recycled content in our innovation and investment strategies across our product lines. The drive toward sustainability is critical in helping our customers meet their goals and for us to meet our own. The spray through overcap stock option fits 211/65mm necked-in aerosol cans and serves a range of markets, including homecare, automotive, and industrial. With its pre-inserted button feature, this spray through overcap is ready to apply from the factory, offering convenience benefits to Berry customers, and simplifying the end-user experience.
