Circular design stick and refill in smaller sizes offer new opportunities in personal care.

Berry Global is introducing three smaller sizes – 15ml, 20ml and 25ml - into its Exclusive Stick and Refill range, providing a convenient, attractive and refillable on-the-go pack solution. This offers beauty and personal care brands further opportunities in the growing deodorants and solid formula face and body care market.

Ideal for face colour cosmetics, lip care, multi-use cosmetics and sun care, the new sizes maintain the Exclusive range’s offering of an aesthetic brand-enhancing pack, which has been designed to circular principles of reducing waste, circulating products at their highest value, and recycling them at their end of life.

The stick can be manufactured in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and its mono-material polypropylene (PP) construction enables easy recycling, where the appropriate recycling infrastructure exists, at the pack’s eventual end of life. The refill stick offers a weight saving of approximately 11.5g over the initial stick and as well as promoting material reduction and re-use, it can be produced in up to 100% of Berry’s proprietary CleanStream® PCR PP, which is suitable for contact sensitive applications.

The new smaller sizes retain the on-trend conical design of the existing larger formats. The straight sides across both the base and cap create an attractive profile and large platform for individual branding, with a wide choice of colours and decorating options for complete personalisation. The precision-made parts ensure ease of use for consumers to provide accurate and hygienic application of products, where there is no need to touch the formula.

The bottom-fill design of the Exclusive provides fast and efficient filling, while the refill process significantly reduces contact with the formula to prevent product contamination.

Lara Alemany, Global Marketing Director, Berry Global, said: Our smaller Exclusive and Refill sticks enable brands and retailers to expand their product ranges with a convenient size pack that retains its looks and sustainability benefits while also offering the opportunity for a lower entry price point. In addition, the availability of the 50ml and 75ml versions allows the creation of family ranges, which help to encourage brand loyalty
The smaller size Exclusive sticks open up new opportunities for beauty and personal care brands while continuing to support their sustainability objectives and commitments.

The Exclusive Stick and Refill range is part of Berry’s B Circular portfolio of products designed to help companies meet their sustainability goals, with initiatives such as the incorporation of recycled content; the development of reusable and refillable packs; designs to improve recyclability; and the use of renewable resources.
