NEUE Water, a new luxury artesian mineral water brand, partners with Berry Global to package its product in 100% recycled PET (rPET) bottles*.

The ergonomically designed flat bottle shape suits modern, on-the-go lifestyles, fitting into pockets, bags, and transport storage areas. Built for reusability, the sturdy construction encourages multiple refills and can be recycled at its end of life.

Berry Global's technical prowess and experience with recycled plastic played a pivotal role in bringing NEUE Water's founder Michael Lowers' innovative bottle concept to life. The unique flat shape posed a challenge to traditional PET bottle manufacturing using the injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM) process. Berry's adept adaptation of this technology accommodated the novel design.

The bottle's distinctive design also incorporates a seamless convex window, magnifying the label area to showcase NEUE Water's limited-edition artist labels. The labels, created by Berlin-based Studio Raaad, will evolve with changing fashion seasons.

Sourced from one of Denmark's two artesian wells known for their soft, rounded flavour, NEUE Water is bottled just meters from its origin, ensuring low-impact production. Since its launch, the brand has gained recognition, selling out within its first week at Harrods and earning accolades like a gold design award from the Fine Water Society and a Good Brand Award for Advancing Social & Environmental Sustainability from Sublime Magazine.

Michael Lowers said: In launching NEUE Water, we are improving the carbon impact of the historical packaging materials for mineral waters. Our water allows consumers to hydrate consciously on the go, with a bottle that uses no new plastic and is recyclable. In this way, we are championing the move to a more circular economy.
Bringing the bottle design concept to life was not easy, but the team at Berry rose to the challenge and have been hugely supportive throughout the project. The end result is brilliant – a fantastic looking bottle that perfectly combines style with sustainability.
