Supplier News

Amcor has unveiled a new 38 mm handle for PET containers, expanding its offer in the beverage market. The new development is user-friendly, with a strong grip for easy carrying, and targets water and other non-carbonated beverages.

The handle fits bottles with a 38 mm neck and is compatible with the Proxima Tethered Closure and other beverage closures from Amcor. It is suitable for large PET containers of up to 10 liters, a format that’s seeing an increase in market demand from consumers. The 38 mm handle, when combined with the closure, saves 34.5% in weight compared to the 48 mm version. It also incorporates retention tabs to hold it to the neck securely and tightly.

This new 38mm handle comes at the right time, with more consumers demanding water or non-carbonated beverages in container sizes of between 5 to 10 liters. It’s a solution that is convenient for the consumer and makes it easier to carry.

Our technical expertise means that we are able to launch this addition to our line-up of handles, serving a sector that demands an easy to use and robust innovation,” added Amcor’s Uli Kobert. “We are delighted to launch the 38 mm handle onto the market, demonstrating Amcor’s ability to react to changing consumer habits.
