Metsä Board will present elements of its Lead the Pack strategy at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, where the company plans to demonstrate how its materials and services support brand owners developing packaging for sectors including food, foodservice, healthcare and retail. The company will exhibit at Hall 8a, Stand D49 during the event, which runs from 7–13 May.

The packaging sector is facing growing expectations around recyclability, material efficiency and the reduction of fossil-based materials, alongside increasing regulatory requirements and climate commitments from brand owners. Packaging design is also receiving greater attention as part of wider value-chain considerations, including Scope 3 emissions.

Metsä Board says its approach focuses on helping customers respond to these challenges through material innovation, collaborative development and technical support. At Interpack, the company plans to introduce new product and service offerings intended to support lightweight and resource-efficient packaging solutions across a range of applications.

Among the developments on display will be the company’s portfolio of lightweight folding boxboards, white kraftliners, foodservice boards and dispersion barrier boards, which are designed to offer alternatives to plastic-based packaging materials. Metsä Board will also highlight Muoto®, a moulded fibre packaging solution developed by Metsä Spring.

In addition, the company will present its FastTrack availability service and expanded design-to-market collaboration support, which aim to assist customers with packaging development and product launches.

Metsä Board’s stand will also host daily Design for Packaging Impact workshops, where participants can explore practical approaches to packaging design and consider how material choices influence functionality, sustainability and brand performance.

The company will also take part in Interpack’s Circular Economy Day on 11 May. During the event, Sustainability Manager Kaisa Munukka will deliver a presentation titled “Towards holistic value creation in pharma packaging – interlinking nature and climate at the Circular Economy.”
