ALDI US launches largest packaging refresh to date

ALDI US has announced its most extensive packaging update to date, introducing a new namesake brand and refreshed designs across its private-label range.

The change means that ALDI’s name will now appear prominently on every product. Some existing private labels will be replaced entirely with the ALDI name, while others — including Clancy’s, Simply Nature and Specially Selected — will remain with updated branding and the addition of an “an ALDI Original” endorsement.

According to the retailer, the move responds to customer feedback, with the updated packaging designed to make ALDI-exclusive products more easily recognisable. In some cases, popular shopper nicknames, such as “Red Bag Chicken,” will also be incorporated into the packaging.

More than 90% of ALDI’s range is private label. The new designs aim to bring a consistent, modern look across categories, while reinforcing the company’s branding.

Atty McGrath, CEO of ALDI, said: The new look and feel of our products is the next step in our journey to modernize our simpler, quicker shopping experience. Now, it’s easier than ever for shoppers to instantly spot the value and quality only ALDI can deliver. After nearly 50 years of setting the standard in private label, our updated packaging will give shoppers yet another reason to reach for our products first.

The rollout has already begun, with all products expected to transition to the updated packaging over the next few years.
