European Bioplastics is an association that represents the interests of the thriving bioplastics industry in Europe. The industry is growing at a rate of more than 20 percent per year.
The organisation is committed to driving the evolution of plastics by raising awareness across all relevant stakeholder groups about the benefits of bioplastics in reducing our dependency on fossil resources, reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions, and using renewable resources more efficiently.
European Bioplastics has an extensive network of businesses, partners, and experts in the bioplastics sector across Europe and beyond. The annual European Bioplastics Conference is the leading business and networking event for the entire industry.
European Bioplastics was founded in Germany in 1993 as IBAW and has since grown to represent the interests of approximately 70 member companies throughout the European Union. Its membership includes businesses from the entire bioplastics value chain, including those in agricultural feedstock, chemical and plastics industries, as well as industrial users and recycling companies from all over the world that are engaged in the European market. As a result, European Bioplastics functions as both a business network and information platform.
