World premiere at LoeschPack: LTS-DUO brings together high-speed performance with user-friendly operation in chocolate packaging

World premiere at LoeschPack LTS-DUO
Supplier News

At interpack 2026, LoeschPack unveiled its new high-performance fold-wrapping machine for chocolate bars. With the LTS-DUO, the German manufacturer is bringing to market a two-stage fold wrapping machine that combines performance, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness with a consistent focus on maximum uptime.

“The LTS-DUO is the result of decades of experience in two-stage fold wrapping. With the goal of further refining proven technologies, Loesch has incorporated insights gained from hundreds of projects around the world. True to the company promise of ‘Packaging your ideas…’, the new packaging solution exceeds the current demands of international competition in terms of performance, proven technology, and energy efficiency,” says Olaf Piepenbrock, Managing Partner of Loesch (the sister company of Hastamat) and the Piepenbrock Group.

High speed meets operating convenience

The LTS-DUO packs up to 275 chocolate bars per minute, making it one of the highest-performing solutions in two-stage fold wrapping. The machine packs products in an inner wrap made of paper, aluminum, or film, as well as an outer wrap made of paper or cardboard. The newly developed machine concept is specifically designed to meet the needs of its operators while ensuring high system availability. “The LTS-DUO is the ideal solution for companies that prioritize flexibility in packaging materials and high efficiency in chocolate bar packaging,” emphasizes Dr Ferdinand Schwarzfischer, Chief Technology Officer at Loesch.

Faster changeovers, cleaner work, easier maintenance

Format changes are part of day-to-day business in many production plants – and often result in costly downtime. This is where the LTS-DUO truly stands out: modern, decentralized servo technology enables format changeovers up to 50 percent faster, in some cases at the push of a button. This allows for easy switching from paper to cardboard or vice versa, reducing setup time, minimizing potential sources of error, and making production capacity more predictable. “For day-to-day production, it is also crucial how quickly cleaning and maintenance tasks can be performed. The centrally positioned, easily accessible easyMI operating unit is designed to make interventions simpler and more ergonomic – a detail that, in practice, can make the difference between a quick adjustment and a lengthy search,” explains Ferdinand Schwarzfischer. The consistent balcony design separates the drive area from the product zone, simplifies cleaning, and allows the machine operator to easily monitor product quality. Extended sealing adjustment options support the processing of a wide range of materials.

Focus on maximum machine uptime

An innovative infeed concept with integrated 3D inspection and a reduced footprint feeds products into the machine with precision. The second station guides the packaging materials to the product evenly and gently. The optimized packaging materials magazine features significantly increased capacity for paper and cardboard labels, which simplifies loading and handling. The splicing unit has also been completely redesigned: splicing right up to the end of the roll ensures efficient and resource-saving use of packaging materials. Various predictive maintenance features further increase ease of maintenance, helping to keep the line running smoothly and maximizing availability.
