The challenge

When a long-standing food manufacturer experienced the sudden failure of two vital packaging machines—after an impressive 35+ years of service—it wasn’t just an inconvenience. It was a full-blown production crisis. With orders to fulfil and customers counting on timely deliveries, the company needed a rapid, reliable solution to keep operations moving.

Normally, replacing equipment of this scale could take 7–8 months—time the business simply didn’t have.

With the pressure rising, the manufacturer contacted the Paramount Packaging Systems team, hoping we could come up with a solution.

The solution

After a brief, focused consultation, the team quickly identified the Fuji FW3410/B flow wrapper as the perfect fit. This highly flexible box-motion 6 servo driven wrapper, with maintenance-free induction heaters offered everything the client needed—plus more.

Critically, it was capable of handling all their SKUs, removing the need to purchase and run two separate machines. Not only did this simplify operations, reduced changeover time but it also created long-term efficiency gains.

Working closely with the client, we designed, tested and implemented the solution in record time—without compromising on quality.

The outcome

From initial consultation to installation, the project was completed in under six weeks—dramatically shorter than the standard lead time. This fast turnaround avoided costly production downtime, allowing the client to keep their lines moving and continue supplying their signature pies and puddings without interruption.

The single Fuji flow wrapper not only replaced both legacy machines but also improved efficiency and reliability on the production line. It’s a prime example of how the right technology and expertise can make all the difference during critical moments.
