BakeAway partners with Bradman Lake to streamline packaging operations
Supplier News

BakeAway, a prominent name in the UK’s chilled dough sector, has selected Bradman Lake to supply a cutting-edge WR4 Wraparound Robotic Case Packer as part of a major upgrade to its packaging line. The order was confirmed last year, with successful installation and commissioning in February 2025.

Specialising in premium dough products—including puff pastry, filo pastry, pastry blocks, pancakes, pizza bases, and cookie doughs—BakeAway required a wraparound case packing solution that could keep pace with its high-volume production whilst offering greater flexibility and ease of use.

Bradman Lake’s WR4 Wraparound Robotic Case Packer, equipped with robotic loading and automatic size change, will handle products at a rate of 100 cartons per minute. The system collates and packs with precision, offering a streamlined alternative to BakeAway’s previous setup.

Why Bradman Lake?

Bradman Lake stood out by offering a simple, compact and efficient solution, backed by responsive service and technical support. The WR4 Wraparound Robotic Case Packer is expected to significantly improve operational reliability and reduce downtime.

Customer testimonial

Tim Embleton, Head of Operations, BakeAway, said: Firstly, what can I say—from first contact with Michael, Bradman Lake’s Sales Manager, to planning, design, build, FAT and after-sales support, the Case Packer we have at BakeAway is exceptional. All the teams at Bradman Lake had great knowledge and couldn’t be more helpful.
Michael Rice, Sales Manager for the project, added: This is a fantastic win for Bradman Lake and a brilliant opportunity to support BakeAway in achieving its production goals. We’re delighted to welcome them as a new customer and look forward to a successful partnership.

The installation marks BakeAway’s first collaboration with Bradman Lake and signals a fresh chapter in its commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
