The Aluminium Federation (ALFED) has launched a new interactive online Member Map to showcase the scale, diversity and geographic reach of the UK aluminium industry.

Developed as part of ALFED’s work through the UK Aluminium Alliance, the map provides a visual overview of ALFED members across the country, highlighting where aluminium businesses are located and the roles they play across the value chain — from production and processing through to recycling, distribution and specialist services.

Each listing includes key information about the member’s core activities and site location, creating the most comprehensive publicly available snapshot of the current UK aluminium landscape.

The map has been designed to support three core objectives:

  • To improve visibility of UK aluminium capability for customers, policymakers and investors
  • To demonstrate regional clusters of activity and supply chain interdependencies
  • To provide a stronger evidence base for discussions around industrial strategy, infrastructure investment, skills and decarbonisation

The initiative forms part of ALFED’s wider ambition to better represent the “as is” state of the UK aluminium sector and strengthen its voice in government and industry engagement.

The UK Aluminium Alliance is focused on improving domestic demand, strengthening scrap retention and utilisation, and supporting a more resilient and circular aluminium supply chain. The new map supports this work by making the industry’s footprint more transparent and accessible.

The ALFED Member Map is now live and will be updated as new members join and data is refreshed. To view the map, and the ALFED members on it, please visit: Members Directory – ALFED
