Established in 1951 and originally called the National Flexible Packaging Association, the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) became the lead voice for flexible packaging in the U.S. Members include small, medium and large manufacturers of flexible packaging converters and material or equipment suppliers to the industry.
The FPA is a major champion and voice for the flexible packaging industry in the U.S. The FPA offers important services that support the success, growth, and development of the its members. FPA strategic goals include:

The FPA’s Advocacy Programme aims to promote the benefits and effectiveness of flexible packaging to specific industry audiences, including consumer product companies, industry stakeholders and policy makers. Key messages of the programme include:
Flexible packaging needs less energy and material to manufacture and to transport, creating less greenhouse gases.
Flexible packaging is light, easy to use, carry, keep, and reseal.
Flexible packaging improves product shelf life, even food, and has a positive sustainability profile.
Flexible packaging leads to less consumer waste ending up in landfills
The Flexible Packaging Association hosts an array of events throughout the year, connecting members in the industry and providing educational and networking opportunities. Events include; FPA's Annual Meeting and the Fall Executive Conference.
